Description
1 Oz SMI Private Mint Silver Round (Morgan Design)
Sunshine Minting Inc (SMI) is among the most reputable private mints North America. SMI is a primary supplier of silver and gold products to several of the largest sovereign mints around the world and notably few suppliers of silver planchets to the United States Mint for the entire American Silver Eagle series.
Silver Rounds hold neither face value nor legal tender status, which makes their premiums lower than sovereign coins. Additional being privately minted, allows rounds to showcase any design, such these Morgan Dollar Inspired Silver Rounds.
Obverse (Heads/Front): A tribute to the original United States Morgan Silver Dollar using the original representation of Anna Willess Williams of Philadelphia. Inscribed around her are the words “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and the initials of the company beneath her “SMI”.
Reverse (Tails/Back): Featuring an American Bald Eagle clutching in its talons the olive branch and arrows, the traditional symbols of peace and war. Around the Eagle are the words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”, ”1 TROY OUNCE”, “.999”, & “FINE SILVER”. In the center of the Eagle is a revolutionary security feature the Scrambled Indicia (or SI). Using micro engraving technology a unique mark that is only seen when holding up a special decoder lens produced by the mint becomes visible, making counterfeiting difficult and non-economical.
